Now Accepting 2019 Board Applications!

Members of the AWE executive committee and board are accepting board applications for its 2019 term now through August 17, 2018. Women and men in the events industry are encouraged to apply. Current AWE membership is not required (non-members will be required to join with board appointment). Application review will occur in August 2018 and selections will be announced in September of 2018.

BOD Apps

Description: The role of the Board is to establish policies consistent with the Association’s Constitution and Bylaws and to actively define and support the mission of the association. Board members should engage, connect and celebrate women professionals in the events field and assemble the founding principles that will guide the entire association and its activities in the events sector. Each board member will have a volunteer, virtual 2-year term. Board Members are expected to join a core AWE committee and actively participate in the committee mission. Board members are required to attend 8 of the 12 meetings per year.

Treasurer Application

Description: The Treasurer is volunteer Chief Financial Officer of the organization. Duties include development and implementation of annual budget, working with committees to control expenses, handling organizations expenditures, among other financial duties. This is a 1-year virtual remote position.

VicePresident App

Description: The Vice President is a senior volunteer leader of AWE and assists with general affairs of the organization. The Vice President helps fulfill the philosophy, mission, strategy and goals of the organization while supporting the President. The Vice President role is a 1-year virtual term that immediately moves into the role of President upon end-of-term. This person is a figurehead in the organization and is comfortable with public speaking and acting as the voice of the organization. The Vice President is a virtual remote position that assures that the Association is making timely progress toward the fulfillment of the strategic plan. This role also acts as Parliamentarian during board meetings.

Secretary App

Description: Dedicated member of the executive team that can be available to be on at least 10 board calls or physical meetings (of 12) per year and take notes during business hours. Virtual/remote position that handles organization of AWE’s business documents. Responsibilities include note taking, agenda building, vote-handling. Must be proficient in word, google docs, physical collateral management, and have access to shipping. Ability to maintain private conversations and intellectual property. This is a 1 year term.
