AWE Board Members:

  • Help us make history

  • Sharpen and hone their leadership skills

  • Lead the establishment of policies consistent with the Association’s Constitution and Bylaws

  • Actively define and support the mission of the association. 

The ultimate role of the Board is to assist the Association in carrying out the mission and strategic plan of the Association in concert with the strategic goals of the events community.

Process and Requirements


  • Applications on the website will close cob on Friday, April 26.
  • Applicants will be reviewed and graded according to official AWE grading sheet.
  • Review and selection of finalists will take place April 29 – May 3.
  • Final selection will be made by Executive Committee after May 3.
  • Final selection will be officially announced first week of May.

Requirements of Applicants:

  • Anyone can apply (female or male or non-disclosed).
  • Applicants do not have to be an AWE member but must join and pay for premium membership upon acceptance of offered and accepted board seat.
  • In accordance with AWE’s diversity and inclusion mission, applicant does not need previous board experience to apply.
  • All board members must agree to actively serve on a committee or task force.
  • All board members must agree to attend and be prepared for 9 out of 12 board meetings.
  • All applicants must agree to attend and pay travel expenses for up to 2 face-to-face board meetings per calendar year.
