Are you tired of struggling and making mistakes? Do you wish someone would give you some guidance and help guide your life in a different direction? Have you been craving some clarity on your current situation but not sure where to start? If any of the above resounds with you, then these seven questions are for you! In today’s article, I will attempt to break down what each means and give real-life examples of how they can help.
Question 1: What is going well in my life right now?
What is going well in your life right now? Sometimes we forget that small things go a long way. And if we focus more on the positive, then the good might multiply into a leap forward. So, why not reflect on the good things that are happening in your life?
For example, if you’re single right now and okay with being single, why not reflect on the good parts of being single right now? Maybe you have free time to yourself or have taken an online course about dating. What is so great about being single anyway? Maybe you have realized that being single is not so bad after all! Take this moment to think about all of the positives that come with being single.
Think about how much better it is to focus on yourself. You are free from the pressure of finding a partner. You get to chill out and figure out what you want in life. You get to be creative and figure out ideas that are not tied to a relationship. You are free from dating people who are not compatible with you. You get to date people who are excellent in their way! You can take time off to focus on your career, spiritual life, or hobbies without the risk of your partner having an affair!
If you’re in a long-term relationship, think about what has caused you to reach the point where you’re in one. Maybe it was due to overworking yourself or fatigue. Maybe it was because of something that happened in your past that caused you too much pain. Or maybe it was because of the things that others were saying about you. Whatever the reasons may be, there are always positive reasons to be in a relationship.
Perhaps you are in a relationship because of the amazing person that your partner is. You are with them because of their positive traits. Take some time to think about what they are doing great that you don’t see on a day-to-day basis. Their positivity may be contagious! Their optimism may motivate you to be more optimistic about life! They can provide you with security and support in times of need.
Don’t forget all of the beautiful things that your partner does for you. They may be taking time out of their schedule to do something special at home for you. They may constantly be making sure that you are taken care of while they are working hard. They may constantly bring you flowers to brighten your day or pick out food that will make you feel good.
What other things about your partner go unappreciated? Reflect on all of the beautiful things that they do for you and make a list! You can discuss these things with them later if their positive traits are insufficient to keep the relationship going. Remember, it is not necessarily your job to make your partner feel loved. Their love for you is what matters. Sometimes, all you need is to remind them that they are loved.
Question 2: What are my current strengths?
Another thing that goes unnoticed is our strengths and positive traits. We should consider thanking ourselves first before we praise others! Think about all of the things you do well, and then think about what other people envy. It should be easy to see which traits could be added to your list of strengths and should become a part of your daily life.
The strength that you are most proud of is your personality! For ladies, it may be honesty, kindness, or compassion. For guys, it may be being funny or being respectful. It may even be that you are a pro at networking. Whatever your strengths are, make sure to value them and incorporate them into your life!
Another thing to consider is the positives within yourself. People tend to forget how strong they are because they have an emotional bedwetting habit! Think about how courageous you are when faced with adversity. Think about how determined you are in achieving your goals. Think about how creative you are when there is no one else around to bounce ideas off of. Think about all of the things that you are good at doing!
It may not be easy to realize what you are capable of. But if you think about your past efforts, you will realize that you are more capable than what you give yourself credit for. Think hard and see whether or not there is any reason why your goals cannot be achieved. If they can’t, then go on and work harder on making them possible! Don’t forget that there is no such thing as impossible; some things take some time to figure out!
Question 3: What am I currently struggling with?
The next thing to do is think about some of the struggles that you are currently facing in your life. It would help if you also thought about controlling these struggles and making the best out of the situation. Nobody said that life was going to be easy! But everybody said that it was going to be short! So think about how you can work hard to get through your struggles and retake control of your life.
If a person in your life is making you feel down, then it might be time for a break from them. If they are sabotaging your relationships or trying to steer you away from your dreams, then it may be time for them to go. You don’t have to let them walk all over you when there are so many other people in the world who would love to be in your life! This is not about being selfish; it’s about taking control of your life.
Another thing to think about is why you are so hard on yourself about your goals. You may have set unrealistic expectations for yourself, or you may be waiting for the perfect opportunity. Maybe you haven’t even made up your mind yet, or you are afraid that you won’t succeed. Whatever the reasons, it might be time to get past that hump and work hard on achieving your goals!
Just remember that the only way out of your struggles is through them. If you focus on what is making you feel down or what is holding you back, you will be able to retake control of your life. It’s tough to make progress in life when you are feeling emotionally down. Make sure that your partners support your goals, and they will want to support you in achieving them!
Question 4: What do I hope my future will look like?
Think about the things that are most important to you in your future! For some people, it might be providing their family with a warm home, providing their children with education opportunities, providing themselves with a career opportunity, or providing themselves with enough time for hobbies. Whatever it is, make sure to take care of these things! These are the things that you should spend your time working on because they are essential to you.
If you are not doing these things, it might be time to work hard to achieve them. If you don’t have enough time in your day or week for these things, then it might be time to cut down on the nonessentials in your life! Are there other people in your life who will not appreciate these things? Are there other people who are doing more for you than what you are doing for them? Think about how others could be faring without all the effort that you are putting into yourself.
It doesn’t mean that you should stop working on your goals, but it does mean that other people in your life will appreciate these things more than you! And if you don’t give them the attention that they deserve, then they may end up resenting you! Working hard on your goals is not a step towards selfishness; it is a step towards self-actualization. You deserve to be happy. As long as you are happy with yourself, nobody else should control how happy you are!
Question 5: What are my dreams?
It is time to think about the big things in life. Think about the career that you want to have in life. Think about the location that you want to live in. Think about the friends that you want to have around you. Think about the hobbies that you enjoy doing! It is also time to think about your future spouse!
Think about whether or not this person will be everything that you ever wanted in a man or woman. Your dreams are what make your future so unique. And if you are trying your best to follow your dreams, then make sure to make some progress! If not, then it’s time for you to retake control of your life. You don’t have time to get sidetracked or distracted.
Make sure that you are constantly working on becoming the person that you want to become in life. This is probably one of the essential parts of living a purposeful life. This is what will get you through the moments when everything else seems bleak and meaningless. So it’s time to think about the things that make you happy and ensure that you focus on them!
Question 6: What is my biggest regret?
Make sure to think about the biggest regrets in your life. Think about the mistakes that you made and how they might be affecting your present and future. Then, think about what you can do to stop making those same mistakes again. You don’t have to make the same mistakes over and over again. You can learn from your past and move on to better things!
Think about the people that you hurt because of those mistakes. Then, think about whether or not those people can forgive you and whether or not they will be able to give you a second chance. If they cannot, then it might be time for you to stop making those mistakes! Do what it takes to remain on good terms with those whom you hurt. If you don’t, then it will affect your relationships and your future.
If there is something that you would like to change about your life, then it might be time for you to start changing it. If you can avoid making the same mistake again, then do so! It’s time to get back on track and get back towards living a purposeful life!
Question 7: What are my values?
What is important to you in life? Think about the various things that are important to you in your life. Then, think about the values that you want to uphold. For some people, it might be their family, friends, education, career, or hobbies. Whatever is important to you most in life, make sure that you are making time for these things!
If things in your life prevent you from thinking about your values or fulfilling them, then it’s time for you to simplify your life. First, you need to take control of your life and see what you can do for yourself! Then, it’s time to figure out how you can be successful.
It isn’t easy to achieve your goals if you are not happy! The only way that you will stay motivated is if you know that this is important to you. You can tell yourself all day how important something is, but until it becomes essential to you, it doesn’t matter at all. The only way that these things become necessary in your life is if they mean something to you!
You need to think about these things and find out how to make each day as purposeful as possible. Think about what you want to accomplish in life and what will make you happier as a person! If you want others to respect and appreciate you, then it is time for you to become the best version of yourself that you can be! You deserve it; we all do! You deserve a purposeful life, and by answering these questions and figuring out who you want to be in life, I am sure that it will be easier for you to get what you have wanted in your life.
